Mountain Christian Church is one church in many locations. Our newest location is in Abingdon, located right behind The Boulevard at Box Hill. This campus is strategically placed between plenty of neighborhoods and in the densest part of our county. We meet in a newly renovated space that maximizes our ability to enhance video teaching, create amazing space for kids, and create strong community bonds.
Mountain and the Abingdon Campus exist because we love Jesus and we love you! This is a place where everyone is welcome, just as they are. We hope you'll join us for any of our services or even just to enjoy the space during the week.

Service Times

Got questions?
New Here: Join us immediately after the service for a five-minute overview of Mountain. This is a great place for you to meet someone on our team, ask your questions and pick up a gift just for you.

What do I wear? The answer is, “whatever makes you comfortable.” You are welcome to leave the tie and uncomfortable shoes at home. Come as you are.

At Mountain, we offer communion to all who have professed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We celebrate communion on a weekly basis. Membership is not a requirement. We remain seated while communion is served. So, participation is at your discretion.

We offer a time of giving during each service. As a guest, please do not feel obligated to give. This time of giving is for those who consider Mountain their church home.

Kid's Programs
We love kids, in fact, some of us are just big kids ourselves. Kids are the next generation of the church and we want to partner with you and see that they get the best of what we can offer.

We strive to provide an environment that is safe, welcoming and educational — giving them age-specific lessons to keep them engaged and wanting to come back each week. Whether weekend only or throughout the week, we have something for kids of any age.

“I totally get why people drive an hour to go to that church!”

We are one church in multiple locations. While our Mountain Road Campus has been meeting since the early 1800s, we launched our Bel Air Campus in 2010, our Edgewood Campus in 2013, and our Abingdon Campus on 2017.

The worship experience at all of our campuses is similar, though each campus has its own unique identity and feel. Regardless of location, a warm and welcoming community of people gathers to engage in worship and experience relevant teaching from God’s Word. The Bible teaching at Edgewood, Bel Air, and Abingdon is often done via video from the Mountain Road campus as a way to maintain continuity with the broader Mountain community.

Why a new campus and when is it happening?
It's It's happening now! We've officially launched and are excited and greatful to be part of the community. This document outlines more details about what led us to this decision.

How can I get involved?
Even though we've already launched, we still need people with your skills and talents to make this new campus a welcoming place. Join our launch team and make an impact in the church and the community!

How can I stay up to date on the Abingdon Campus?
Here are some ways to stay in the know about what's going on at the Abingdon Campus:

Why is the teaching on the video screen, and where did it come from?
The main Bible teaching is often preached on our Mountain Road Campus in Joppa. A member of the Teaching Team, which is led by Lead Pastor Ben Cachiaras, preaches at the New Life Center on Mountain Road. The message is recorded and then played at the Abingdon Campus. Sharing the same message across all campuses maintains continuity of vision and direction for the whole church. Additionally, there are times throughout the year when a “live” message is preached in multiple locations on the same Sunday.

Is there stuff for my kids at Abingdon?
Yes. Fun, exciting, Christ-centered programming is available for children 0-5th grade. Our equipment allows us to create safe and welcoming environments in which kids can experience God in settings that are tailored for them. Just look for the signs to get them to the right place.

What does it mean that Mountain Christian is a “multi-site” church?
Mountain is a “multi-site” church—one church meeting in multiple locations. The same culture and DNA was taken from Mountain Road and reproduced at our Bel Air, Edgewood, and Abingdon campuses. Thus the experience on a Sunday morning is much the same at any Mountain location. Other Mountain programs and events, such as Welcome to Mountain, Students, Men’s, Women’s, etc. are designed to incorporate people from all locations, drawing us together as One church.

Why multi-site?
Because people matter to God. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all people.” Each campus was and is launched with that in mind—it’s about reaching people. Since 1824 God has been using Mountain to draw people to himself with the good news of Jesus, helping them grow and serve in a special community of faith. Each campus has developed as an extension of that mission, welcoming those who may never have driven to Mountain Road or made their way to any other church.
