Mountain is one church in many locations, our newest location coming to Abingdon in the Fall of 2017! Our Abingdon Campus will be located right behind The Boulevard at Box Hill, strategically placed between plenty of neighborhoods and in the densest part of our county. We will be meeting in a newly renovated space that will maximize our ability to enhance video teaching, create amazing space for kids and create strong community bonds. Mountain and the Abingdon Campus exist because we love Jesus and we love you! I hope you’ll join us this fall!

What to Expect
Coming soon! Check back for more details about what Abingdon's service times will be.
MI-5: Join us immediately after the service for a five minute overview of Mountain. This is a great place for you to meet someone on our team, ask your questions and pick up a gift just for you.
What do I wear? The answer is, “whatever makes you comfortable.” You are welcome to leave the tie and uncomfortable shoes at home. Come as you are.
At Mountain we offer communion to all who have professed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We celebrate communion on a weekly basis. Membership is not a requirement. We remain seated while communion is served. So, participation is at your discretion.
We offer a time of giving during each service. As a guest, please do not feel obligated to give. This time of giving is for those who consider Mountain their church home.

We are one church in multiple locations. In 2010 we launched our Bel Air Campus, in 2013 we launched our Edgewood Campus, and now, in Fall of 2017 we are looking forward to launching our Abingdon campus.
The worship experience at all of our campuses is similar, though each campus has its own unique identity and feel. Regardless of location, a warm and welcoming community of people gathers to engage in worship and experience relevant teaching from God’s Word. The Bible teaching at Edgewood and Bel Air (and soon, Abingdon) is often done via video from the Mountain Road campus as a way to maintain continuity with the broader Mountain community.

Why a new campus and when is it happening?
This document outlines the why, when, and how of our new campus.
How can I find out more details?
We are hosting three Town Hall Gatherings to discuss in more depth our exciting new plans. To view the event details, click here.
How can I stay up to date on the progress?
We want you to be as excited as we are and as involved as you want. Here are some ways to stay in the know about how things are going at the Abingdon Campus:
Will the sermon be on a video screen instead of live?
Yes, much like our Bel Air and Edgewood Campuses, the main bible teaching, called the “sermon,” will be preached on our Mountain Road Campus in Joppa and then played at the Abingdon Campus. Sharing the same message across all campuses maintains continuity of vision and direction for the whole church. Additionally, there are times throughout the year when a “live” message will be preached at various campuses on the same Sunday. Also like our Bel Air and Edgewood Campuses, worship and announcements will be live at the Abingdon Campus.
Is there stuff for my kids at Abingdon?
Yes. Fun, exciting, Christ-centered programming is available for children 0-5th grade. Our equipment allows us to create safe and welcoming environments in which kids can experience God in settings that are tailored for them. Just look for the signs to get them to the right place.
What does it mean that Mountain is a “multi-site” church?
Mountain is a “multi-site” church—one church meeting in multiple locations. The same culture and DNA was taken from Mountain Road and reproduced at our Bel Air, Edgewood, and Abingdon campuses. Thus the experience on a Sunday morning is much the same at any Mountain location. Other Mountain programs and events, such as Welcome to Mountain, Students, Men’s, Women’s, etc. are designed to incorporate people from all locations, drawing us together as One church.
Because people matter to God. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all people.” Each campus was and is launched with that in mind—it’s about reaching people. Since 1824 God has been using Mountain to draw people to himself with the good news of Jesus, helping them grow and serve in a special community of faith. Each campus has developed as an extension of that mission, welcoming those who may never have driven to Mountain Road or made their way to any other church.
